Olen Glen Fyffe, age 88, went to be with the Lord in the morning hours of June 15, 2010, as his family surrounded him with their love. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan Funeral home in Marshall, with Rev. Sam Cutrone officiating. Interment will follow at Grange Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mr. Fyffe was born in Marshall, Texas to James and Pearl Fyffe on May 25, 1922. Olen served his country during WWII as a Yeoman Second Class in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. Mr. Fyffe retired from Natural Gas Pipeline.

Olen was a dedicated lifelong member of Grange Hall United Methodist Church of Marshall, Texas, where he was also a devoted Sunday school teacher. When Mr. Fyffe was not helping with the yard work at his church, he enjoyed gardening in his own yard. He also enjoyed going hunting and fishing.

Olen is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marguerite Smith Fyffe; his sons, James Reese Fyffe and wife Jill, Olen David Fyffe, Gaddis Paul Fyffe and wife Shirley, and Samuel David Fyffe; grandchildren, Donna Lancaster, Debra Hernandez, James Scott Fyffe, James Todd Fyffe, Jonathan Reese Fyffe, and Zachary Fyffe; great-grandchildren, Josh Lancaster, Jessica Hernandez, Trey Hernandez, Erin Fyffe, Sara Fyffe, Dalton Fyffe, Allena Welcher, Logan Welcher, Lacie Grubb, Cheyenne Fyffe, Caleb Fyffe, Megan Fyffe, Christian Fyffe, Rachel King, and Zoey King; sisters, Merline Oney and Fannie Carter; and a son-in-law, John Covin. Olen is preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Fyffe; daughter, Joyce Covin; and two brothers, Robert Fyffe and Lawrence Fyffe.
